Water not draining properly

The dishwasher cannot drain properly, usually because the drain filter or drain path is blocked.

Try these free fixes first

Unplug the dishwasher before opening any panel.

  1. Unplug the dishwasher, then remove and rinse the filters in the bottom of the tub.
  2. Check that the pump cover under the filter is seated firmly and not loose.
  3. Make sure the drain hose is not kinked or squashed behind the unit or under the sink.
  4. If the dishwasher drains into a garbage disposal, confirm the knockout plug in the disposal's dishwasher inlet was removed.
  5. Reset the dishwasher as described in your manual and run a rinse cycle.
